The Moorage:
There are 2,210 lineal feet of moorage available. All are side ties, and are designed for boats, power or sail, from 20 ft. (6.5m) to 80 ft. (26m). There are no overnight cabins at Greenway Sound Marine Resort, so the boats should have adequate sleeping accomodations for all occupants. There are no camping facilities on the dock, but boaters can camp free at the Forest Service Park, in our bay.Moorage Rate: Moorage rate for 2004 is $1.00 CDN/foot, or about $0.85 US/foot per night. Moorage is charged ONLY the production length of your boat. For example, if you have a 42' Grand Banks, you are charged for only 42 feet, although you probably will use close to 60 feet of dock. Most other marinas charge by the dock length. The $1.00 moorage rate includes:
- $0.10 for the new Park maintenance we now must pay;
- $0.25 to handle your garbage which is flown out to Port McNeill for environmental reasons;
- $0.15 goes to provide free, good, abundant water for you;
- $0.10 to provide good, clean restrooms;
- And the other $0.40 to provide the best docks and finest amenities in the Broughtons.
The docks have RED CARPET, and are a pleasure to walk on. For exercise, two round trips, including the airplane dock, is a nautical mile. When boating, one must walk nautical miles, one would think!
Check-in and Check-out are both 3PM. Earlier arrivals are taken on space
available. The late checkout is for boaters to enjoy lunch, finish laundry, catch airplanes or meet guests, or take a walk in the Park.Shore Power: There are power stations every 50 ft. or so, offering 15 and 30 amp/120 volt, and 50 amp/208 volt. Sorry, there are no 20 or 50 amp/120 volt outlets. During the season, power is continuous 24 hour, made from our generators. (We are 30 miles from commercial power.) Rates are $10.00 CDN for 15 amp and $20.00 CDN for 30 amp 24 hour power, per night. 50A/220V is $80.00 CDN per night.
NOTE! Shore Power surcharges may apply if our fuel costs increase above $.90/litre. As of May 2008, fuel is expected to be $1.21/litre, which will cause a $5.00 surcharge on 30 amp and a 30% surcharge on 50 amp service.
Showers $5.00 CDN, Laundry $10.00 CDN
The Frequent Mooring Plan:
This plan earns you free nights of moorage, and works much like an airline frequent flyer program. Throughout each season, your moorage nights are recorded, and when you reach the 7th night, it is FREE. Moorage does NOT have to be consecutive. The idea is to encourage you to come in every few days and spend a night with us. Have dinner, get groceries, do laundry, get water, empty the garbage, stretch your legs in the park or on the docks, mail things, read the newspaper, see your friends, charge the batteries, have lunch the next day and then go out and explore and fish some more.
As an additional bonus, you get two free days in the second accumulated week. Your 13th and 14th nights moorage are free, as are the 20th and 21st, etc..Leaving your boat:
Greenway Sound Marine Resort is an ideal place to leave your boat. Fly home, and catch up on business and family. Your boat will be safely moored, under constant supervision, away from the city and all the attendant problems cities have with vandalism and burglary. Frankly, there are cheaper places, but none as secure or convenient. When you leave your boat, moorage is charged at the regular rate, but the Frequent Mooring Plan usually kicks in, giving you savings up to 30%. Also, we reduce the Shore Power fee to match the lower consumption. This item is variable, depending on what you leave running on shore power. Further, you get our surveillance and periodic inspection aboard for free. The boat receives better care than it does in its own moorage! If you get home and find you must stay longer than you thought, it is OK with us. Just give us a call and let us know. Well take care of her.Custom Provisioning for your return:
You can leave a list of groceries and supplies to have to put aboard when you return. We have a special Custom Provisioning Sheet that we can give you before you leave, that lists all sorts of items for you to choose. Fill it out, and your groceries will be waiting for you upon your return. We also maintain a comprehensive store, with flown in produce and dairy for maximum freshness. Most boats can provision right out of our store, and require very little special orders.Special note to boats over 80 ft. or very heavy:
Greenway Sound Marine Resort is moored in a bay that varies in depth from 60 to 220 feet deep, with strong tidal movement. For safety, we must plan ahead, sometimes several days, to accomodate large vessels. They must be put in areas on the docks that do not cause risk to others, by breaking the mooring tackle. Please call ahead. We'd love to have you.As you get to know us, you will know what to expect from us. You will find us very accomodating, and willing to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. Whenever a need arises, please call us first. We have the experience to know how to respond to your request. We can almost always help you. Welcome to Greenway Sound Marine Resort!
All moorage is by reservation. Call ahead to be sure of space for you. Call VHF 66A or 1-800-800-2080 or 250-974-7044 (a local call from Alert Bay & Pt. McNeill).
